Cathay has opened its revamped Business Class Lounge at The Pier within Hong Kong International airport, following a refurbishment programme.
At 3,306 sqm the new lounge is around 1,000 sqm larger than its predecessor, and Cathay’s largest lounge worldwide.
Located next to gate 65 in the North West concourse of the airport, the facility seats 550 guests, and features 14 shower suites, a relaxation room, and a Tea House offering teas “served by a tea specialist”.
The lounge layout has been imagined as a street, with “fast” and “slow” lanes, depending on the guest’s needs.
The fast lane leads to the food and beverage options including the self-service Food Hall and the Noodle Bar, while the slow lane takes passengers to the lounge seating area, with bespoke Solo chairs featuring built-in reading lamps.
Materials include limestone and cherry wood “to give a sense of generosity and permanence to the space”, while “an abundance of natural plant-life adds a more natural and healthier look”. Artwork from local artists feature throughout the lounge.
The Business Class Lounge at The Pier is open from 0530 daily until the last departure of the day, and is accessible to first and business class passengers, Silver and above Marco Polo Club members, members of all tiers who have earned lounge passes and/or their friends and family members, and Emerald and Sapphire Oneworld members who are departing or transiting in Hong Kong.
The new business class lounge joins the first class facility opened at the airport last summer.
