Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International airport has dropped its airport development fee, effective April 30.

Passengers had previously been charged Rs 100 on domestic services, and Rs 600 for international flights.

Since December 2012 the airport has collected an average of Rs 30 crore per month from the development fee.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has requested that all airlines refund passengers the development fee for flights scheduled to depart after April 30.
