Travellers to Mauritius can now take advantage of a new codeshare agreement between Singapore Airlines and Air Mauritius, adding the Singapore carrier’s “SQ” designator code to Air Mauritius’ flights between Singapore and the Indian Ocean country.
Air Mauritius currently flies three flights per week between the two countries, and the codeshare is expected to come into effect starting November 1, subject to regulatory approvals.
“We are delighted with the new agreement with Air Mauritius, which will add the beautiful island nation of Mauritius to the SIA codeshare network,” said Tan Kai Ping, Singapore Airlines’ senior vice president marketing planning. “This is another example of how we are continuously looking to expand our reach to provide customers across the SIA network with more travel options.”
The new codeshare follows a similar agreement earlier this year between Singapore Airlines and Turkish Airlines as well as linking with budget carrier Eurowings. The Singapore carrier also recently announced plans to expand its services to Jakarta and Sydney, as well as adding Wellington and Canberra to its map.
