Guangzhou-based China Southern Airlines has taken its first Airbus A350-900, featuring new seat products.
The carrier has a total of 20 A350-900s on order. The new aircraft will feature 28 seats in business class laid out in a staggered 1-2-1 configuration, 24 seats in premium economy in a 2-4-2 layout, and 262 economy seats, as can be seen from its official seat map. Business Traveller Asia-Pacific previously wrote about the carrier’s new seat products on its first A350 aircraft.
China Southern has also unveiled more details of its economy class seats on its official Weibo account. The 262 economy class seats will be configured in a 3-3-3 layout. Each seat, upholstered with fabric, will be equipped with an 11.6-inch IFE screen and a USB plug.
The airline will initially operate the new aircraft on its domestic routes from Guangzhou to Shanghai and Beijing, followed by flights to international destinations, Airbus said in a press release.
China Southern’s booking website shows that it will first place this new aircraft on two daily domestic flights between Guangzhou and Shanghai Hongqiao on July 3.
