Thai Airways will increase flight frequencies between Bangkok and Fukuoka from seven to 10 flights per week from July 13 this year, with a promotional fare for round-trip travel between the two cities from July 13 to September 30.

A 299-seater A330-300 aircraft is being deployed on the route, with 36 seats in Royal Silk Class, the business class of Thai Airways, in a 2-2-2 configuration. The remaining 263 seats are all in economy class.

Meanwhile, the carrier has launched promotional fares for the summer season this year. The discounted round-trip between Bangkok and Fukuoka includes the departure flight TG686 and the return flight TG687 or TG649 at THB14,420 (US$460) per person. For passengers travelling in a group of four or more, the price is THB13,670 (US$436) per person, including taxes and surcharges.

Reservations and tickets must be made and issued during May 31 and August 31, and the eligible travel days are from July 13 to September 30 this year. After the promotion period, the price of a round-trip between Bangkok and Fukuoka in mid-October will start from around THB18,385 (US$587).

According to Mr. Wiwat Piyawiroj, Thai Airway’s executive vice president, commercial, it is due to the rising demand for travel to Fukuoka that the airline has decided to increase the round trip flight frequencies between the two cities. He also mentioned that Thai Airways’ flights to and from Japan remain “highly popular” among Japanese and Thai passengers.

Currently, in addition to Fukuoka, Thai Airways also operates daily flights from Bangkok to Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya, and five times per week to Sapporo.
