On December 1, state-owned Air India will launch direct flights between Delhi and the Spanish capital, Madrid. The route will be served thrice weekly on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday by a Boeing Dreamliner 787 (18 seats in business class and 238 seats in economy class).
Flight AI-135 will depart from Delhi at 1425 and land in Madrid at 2020. Return flight AI-136 will leave from Madrid at 2150 and arrive at Delhi at 1110.
Currently, the “web special” return economy fare between the two capitals, as displayed on the Air India website, starts from ₹38,270.
Air India says, “We have timed the flight in such a way that passengers from Bangkok (which generates 166 passengers per day), Colombo (which generates about 50-60 passengers per day) and Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne can connect to Madrid and back (via Delhi).”
