Hainan Airlines has launched a new twice-weekly service between Changsha and Sydney.

Earlier this month, the airline also launched two flights a week  between Xian and Sydney

The carrier’s expansion into Australia follows the loosening of visa rules for Chinese nationals visiting Australia. The signing of the China–Australia Free Trade Agreement in 2015 extended the validity of multiple-entry visas for Chinese citizens from three to ten years.

Flight HU7997 departs Changsha every Monday and Friday at 1850 and arrives in Sydney at 0635 the day after. The return flight, HU7998 takes off from Sydney at 0820 before touching down in Changsha at 1635.

Hainan Airlines is using its A330 to serve the route. The Airbus aircraft comes with a two-class configuration, and features 36 seats in business (2-2-2) and 186 in economy (2-4-2).
