Emirates has strengthened its presence in Southeast Asia with the launch of a new daily triangle service from Dubai to Yangon (Myanmar) and then onwards to Hanoi (Vietnam).

Flight EK388 departs Dubai at 0330 and arrives in Yangon at 1140. The service takes off again at 1300 and arrives in Hanoi at 1530. Meanwhile, the return service, EK389, departs Hanoi at 2250 and arrives in Yangon at 0020 the next day. Following a short layover, the flight takes off from Yangon at 0150, before touching back down in Dubai at 0505.

The linked service is operated by a B777-300ER, which features a two-class configuration. Emirates has outfitted the aircraft with 42 seats in business (2-3-2) and 385 in economy (3-4-3).

Yangon is the first destination in Myanmar to be served by Emirates. As the country’s largest city and most important commercial centre, Yangon contributes one fifth of Myanmar’s GDP.

Meanwhile, Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, has become the Gulf carrier’s second gateway within the country following the launch of services to Ho Chi Minh City back in 2012.
