The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has announced amends in cancellation charges of flights.

Cancellation charges of flights will not be more than the basic fare and fuel charge component of the ticket, August 1 onwards.

Passengers will be refunded passenger service fee, service tax, user development fee and other taxes levied on promotional or special fares as well.

“The airlines should indicate in an unambiguous manner the amount of refund money admissible on cancellation of a ticket. The airlines shall not levy any additional charge to process the refund,” says M. Sathiyavathy, director general of Civil Aviation. dgca.nic.in
