Singapore Airlines has launched a range of “Deliciously Wholesome” meals which will be offered in-flight and in the carrier’s SilverKris lounges at Changi airport.
SIA says the dishes – which are rich in nutrients, vitamins and essential minerals – are designed to cater for “an increasing number of health-conscious travellers”.
Economy and premium economy passengers can choose from dishes including quinoa served with ratatouille and chickpeas, a gluten-free option high in protein, antioxidants and essential amino acids, and steamed fish in wolfberry sauce, containing omega 3, vitamin C, iron and fibre.
Business, first and suites customers are able to pre-order selected meals including citrus steamed sea bass with lettuce puree, high in protein and polyunsaturated essential fatty acids omega 3 and omega 6, and sousvide miso simmered beef Yamato-style, rich in iron and “with the therapeutic effects of ginger and garlic”.
SIA said the new dishes were the result of “an extensive meal development process”, including focus groups and food tasting sessions with frequent flyers.
The meals will be served on selected flights departing Singapore from this month.
