Malindo Air to commence daily Penang–Singapore service

Malindo Air will launch a new daily service between Penang and Singapore from October 25. The Malaysian “hybrid” airline, which offers full-service amenities and services for competitive prices, will add an additional 2,268 seats on the popular route that is currently served by low-cost carriers and Silk Air only. Flight OD823 will depart Penang at 1110 and arrive in Singapore at 1230. The return service on flight OD822 will then take off from Singapore at 1335 and touch back down in Penang at 1455. “We are delighted to announce the new Penang-Singapore operations... as we are moving towards identifying key hubs in the region and establishing a strong foothold in these locations,” said Chandran Rama Muthy, chief executive of Malindo Air. “This new route will provide more connectivity choices for our passengers in Penang and Singapore.” To commemorate the launch, Malindo Air is offering promotional fares for business class starting at RM269 (US$61) one-way while those on economy start at RM129 (US$29) each way, inclusive of light refreshments, inflight entertainment and free baggage allowance of up to 20kg (economy) and 40kg (business).
