AAdvantage double miles between North America and Asia

15 Sep 2015 by GrahamSmith
AAdvantage members can earn double miles when flying with American Airlines or Japan Airlines between North America and Asia before December 15. The promotion applies to first class, business class and selected economy class fares. Economy fares are those booked in Y, B or H on American flights and those booked in W, E, Y, B or H on JAL flights. Eligible first and business fares are those booked in F, A, P, J, R, D or I. Double miles are calculated at 100 per cent of base miles earned while bonus miles do not count towards elite status qualification of AAdvantage "Million Miler" status. Members must register for the offer prior to travel, quoting the code ASIA4. American said in a statement: "With our partner Japan Airlines, we're offering you access to more than 60 destinations in Asia and an improved network with non-stop flights to five key markets: Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai and Tokyo." Earlier this month, JAL announced it will launch a B787-8 service between Tokyo Narita and Dallas/Fort Worth on November 30 and that it will codeshare on the route with American (see news, September 1). American and JAL launched their joint business agreement across the Pacific Ocean in 2011 (see news, January 2011). aa.com Graham Smith
