Tigerair Taiwan gears up for Kaohsiung–Tokyo Narita launch

13 Jul 2015 by Clement Huang
Tigerair Taiwan is set to launch a new service between the port city of Kaohsiung and Tokyo Narita later this year. With effect from September 1, flight IT280 will depart Kaohsiung at 1520 and arrive in Tokyo at 2005. The return flight will see IT281 take off from Tokyo at 1210 and touch back down in Kaohsiung at 1515. Tigerair Taiwan is a joint venture between China Airlines Group and Tigerair Holdings, and began regular operations last September. The low-cost carrier (LCC) currently operates five A320s and flies to nine destinations in Asia. China Airlines chairman Sun Huang Hsiang said: “We believe China Airlines’ knowledge of the Taiwan market, as well as Tigerair’s low-cose carrier DNA, should stimulate demand in the civil aviation market here [in Taiwan]. “We have full confidence in Tigerair Taiwan. Its biggest advantage is the high brand recognition of the Tigerair brand in Taiwan as well as the Tiger Airways Group route and sales network across the Asia-Pacific.” For more information, visit tigerair.com Clement Huang
