Building on Qatar Airways’ recent launch of flights to Chicago – its fourth US gateway – the airline has announced an expanded codeshare agreement with American Airlines for connecting flights from Chicago to domestic destinations in the US.
According to industry-related website, Airline Route, the agreement has added 25 more destinations to Qatar’s network, including Baltimore, Fort Wayne, Hartford and Newark. This extended deal brings the total number of the carrier’s American codeshare destinations to 89.
Currently, Qatar only flies three times a week to Chicago O’Hare airport due to issues with the Dreamliner earlier this year (see story here) but the frequency will go up to daily in June.
