Air Berlin and AA expand codeshare agreement

4 Jan 2013 by BusinessTraveller
Oneworld carriers Air Berlin and American Airlines are to expand their existing codeshare agreement from this spring. From March 23 Air Berlin will place its code on over 30 destinations from AA’s Chicago hub, and from the same day Air Berlin will launch its new Berlin-Chicago service (see online news July 12, 2012). Then on April 11 American Airlines will commence a non-stop route between Chicago and Dusseldorf, with Air Berlin codesharing on the route. Finally with immediate effect Air Berlin has placed its code on 11 connecting routes from AA’s hubs in New York, Miami and LA. This week Air Berlin also unveiled its new fully-flat business class seat, operating on the carrier’s A330 route from Dusseldorf to Abu Dhabi and featuring the same product as used by Etihad on its A330 aircraft (see online news January 3).
