Lufthansa’s fully flat business class seat to debut in Asia

9 Jul 2012
First launched in Germany in March 2012, on Lufthansa's new Boeing 747-8 aircraft, the new fully flat business class seats will be installed in phases on all of the airline’s long-haul aircraft serving Asia, with the first being an Airbus A330-300. The installation will be completed in the first quarter of 2013. Assembled in pairs and turned away from each other in a V-shape, the new seats give passengers double the distance from neighbours at shoulder level. Space between rows is also more generous, allowing sufficient room for window seat passengers to get in or out even when the aisle seat is fully extended. The seats become 1.98-metre long fully flat horizontal beds at the push of a button. Ergonomically improved cushioning, adjustable armrests and a fixed ottoman increase comfort.
