Etihad and AA launch reciprocal miles redemptions

18 Oct 2011 by BusinessTraveller
Members of the Etihad Guest and AAdvantage schemes can now redeem miles on flights operated by both carriers, following the expansion of a frequent flyer agreement between the two airlines. Etihad and American Airlines signed an agreement earlier this year allowing FFP members to earn points when travelling on flights booked on each other’s networks (see online news June 2), but from today members can also redeem miles across both carriers. Etihad flies daily from Abu Dhabi to both New York and Chicago, with AA codesharing on both routes. In total the carriers have a combined codeshare network of over 50 destinations.
