Wifi on all long-haul TAM flights “in around a year”

28 Jul 2011 by BusinessTraveller
The Brazilian carrier says passengers will be able to make mobile phone calls and access wifi internet on all long-haul services, following trials of the service on short-haul flights. TAM has partnered with OnAir to offer the service on selected short-haul flights over the last nine months, and will now extend the offering to its 12 B777-300ER aircraft (four already in the fleet and eight set for delivery by 2014), as well as its A330 fleet and forthcoming A350s. The carrier will continue to roll out the service on short-haul flights over the next year, with long-haul passengers set to benefit from the second half of 2012. The news follows Lufthansa’s announcement that it will equip its long-haul aircraft with wifi internet access by the end of the year (see online news July 26). For more information visit tam.com.br.
