Virgin America launches Chicago routes

23 Feb 2011 by BusinessTraveller
Virgin America is to launch daily services to Chicago from both LA and San Francisco in May, but will drop flights to Toronto from the same airports. The California-based carrier had originally planned to launch flights to Chicago back in 2008, but this was delayed due to the lack of gate availability. The new routes will now commence on May 25, using Airbus A320 aircraft. The LA-Chicago route will be served twice-daily, with the San Francisco-Chicago service operating three-times daily – for full details of the schedules see below. However Virgin America will drop flights to Toronto from both LA and San Francisco on April 26, less than a year after the services were launched. Virgin America’s in-flight offering includes mood-lit cabins, power outlets “near every seat”, seatback TV screens with on-demand films and live TV, wifi internet access, and the choice of Main Cabin (economy), Main Cabin Select (premium economy) and First Class seating.
