Regal Hotels and Malaysia Airlines enter loyalty partnership

Members of Malaysia Airlines’ Enrich frequent flyer programme can now earn miles when staying at participating Regal Hotels International properties, following the launch of a strategic partnership between the two companies.

Starting today, Enrich members can earn 600 miles for each eligible stay at a participating Regal Hotels property and 300 miles when staying at participating iclub hotels. Eligible properties in the Regal and iclub portfolio include hotels in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Dezhou, Foshan and Xi’an.

Speaking about the partnership, Malaysia Airlines’ head of Enrich and loyalty, Khairul Nisa Ismal, said: “The partnership is timely as Malaysia Airlines has already mounted the second daily flight between Kuala Lumpur and Shanghai. For members who are planning to visit Hong Kong and stay in Regal properties there, they can look forward to flying the Airbus A330, which offers the comfort of a fully flat business class seat.”

Malaysia Airlines joins an existing 20 airlines that Regal currently partners with. These include: Air China, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Asiana Airlines, ANA, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Etihad, Eva Air, Hong Kong Airlines, Japan Airlines, Jet Airways, Korean Air, Philippine Airlines, Qantas, Singapore Airlines, United Airlines and Virgin Atlantic.;

Regal Hotels secures new HKIA hotel contract

Regal Hotels Group has secured a contract to open a new 1,000-room hotel at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), the South China Morning Post reports.

Capital Charm group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Regal, attained the contract following a HK$2.19 billion (US$282 million) offer, which was accepted on Thursday.

The new property is set to occupy a site area of 6,650 sqm and forms part of HKIA’s plans to develop a 668-000-sqm Skycity integrated complex near the airport’s Terminal 2. The new Regal is due to open in 2020 as part of the first stage of the Skycity development, along with 195,000-sqm of retail, dining and entertainment space.

Regal’s new property will be the group’s second at the airport, following the existing Regal Airport Hotel. The group operates a further ten properties in Hong Kong and 22 in mainland China.

Regal Airport Hotel, Xi’an opens its doors

Regal Hotels International has unveiled its newest property in Xian. Regal Airport Hotel, Xi’an is the only hotel directly connected to Xi’an Xianyang International Airport Terminal 3.

The new property comprises 297 guestrooms and suites over eight guest floors. The executive club floors alone account for a sizable 100 guestrooms and suites, making the hotel an attractive accommodation choice for business travellers.

There are five restaurants and bars available, including Tiffany Lounge, Noodle Doodle, Rouge, Café Rivoli and iLounge that serve a wide range of Cantonese, Western, and international dining options.

Recreational facilities include a 17-metre indoor heated swimming pool spa centre, gymnasium, yoga room and sauna.

Finally, Regal Airport Hotel, Xi’an is also home to 21 meeting rooms – all of which come in various sizes to suit different types of events and conferences. The highlight here is the 800sqm pillar-free Grand Ballroom, which is equipped with high-speed wifi and advanced audio-visual systems.

To commemorate its opening, Regal Airport Hotel, Xi’an is offering a selection of introductory rates for its superior room category starting at RMB628 (US$100) per night, including breakfast for one. There is also a slightly pricier option at RMB768 (US$123). This comes with breakfast for two, as well as the following privileges:

– Extra bed at RMB350 (US$56)

– Free baby cot for baby under three years old (24-hour advanced booking is required)

– Extra breakfast at RMB128 (US$25) per person (half price for child shorter than one metre)
