Crystal Aircruises will be partnering with The Peninsula Hotels for the maiden journey of its ultra-luxury Boeing 777-200LR jet, which will embark on a 27-day voyage starting August 31, 2017 from New York to Paris. The aircraft will fly from and to ten destinations, allowing guests to explore cultural and culinary offerings in the cities.

The Peninsula Grand Inaugural Crystal Aircruise will see guests welcomed by The Peninsula Hotels in each destination along with attending exclusive events. Among these events are four galas, including a rooftop cocktail reception in New York, a private dinner party on the Great Wall in Beijing, and an “over the top” Old Shanghai-style party.

“It is our honour to partner with The Peninsula Hotels for the landmark occasion of Crystal Aircruises’ inaugural journey, as their reputation for excellence is legendary and their philosophy of exceeding guests’ expectations and wishes aligns beautifully with Crystal’s own,” said Crystal president and CEO, Edie Rodriguez. “For more than two decades and throughout our tremendous expansion, our guests continue to expect innovative experiences and new heights of luxury with their Crystal vacations. Crystal Aircruises will offer these with our signature meticulous service and attention to detail.”

Guests will stay The Peninsula properties in the following destinations during the voyage: New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Manila, Bangkok and Paris.

“We couldn’t imagine a more perfect partner than Crystal to offer a guest experience reminiscent of the historical ‘grand tours’, now elevated to include a private air experience unlike and other paired with our incredible hotels and bespoke destination programmes.”

The B777-200LR has been redesigned to suit the needs of passengers on the high-end journey, including fully flat beds and a social lounge with stand-up bar. The Peninsula amenities will also be offered to guests on the inaugural voyage, and guests will also receive Bose noise-cancelling headphones, iPads, complimentary global wifi and interactive TVs.

Reservations will be open for booking on November 1, 2016 and start at US$159,000 per person.

Peninsula Paris awarded Palace status

Peninsula Paris

The Peninsula Paris has been awarded the prestigious Palace status by the French Tourism Development Agency.

The distinction – which sits above the five-star rating – was created in November 2010 “to reward hotel excellence and to assist in promoting the French way of life on the international stage”.

There are currently around 20 hotels with Palace status, including Parisian properties Le Meurice, Park Hyatt Vendome, Four Seasons Hotel George V, and the Manadrin Oriental, Paris.

The Peninsula Paris opened in August 2014, and is located on Avenue Kleber, close to the Arc de Triomphe.

The six-storey Belle Epoque building features 166 rooms and 34 suites, five of which have their own private rooftop terraces, as well as three restaurants and a 1,800 sqm spa with 20-metre pool.

To celebrate its new status, the hotel has launched the Peninsula Palace offer (available until September 30), including a bottle of Champagne, and 30 additional minutes of spa treatments for every 60 minutes or more purchased.
