The Dubai-based luxury hotel company has announced plans for five new properties overall in 2018.

Jumeirah Muscat Bay

Dubai-based hotel group Jumeirah revealed at its annual Middle East Roadshow in Dubai that it intends to open at least five new luxury hotels in 2018, including:

  • Jumeirah Royal Saray, Bahrain
  • Jumeirah Sa’adiyat Island, Abu Dhabi
  • Jumeirah Bali, Indonesia
  • Jumeirah Nanjing, China
  • Jumeirah Muscat Bay, Oman

The openings will see Jumeirah operating for the first time in Bahrain, Bali and Oman.

Also part of Jumeirah’s plans is the refurbishment and reopening of Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai. The hotel is expected to close from May to October next year, and should be fully open in time to celebrate its 21st anniversary in December.

The news follows a strong performance for Jumeirah in 2017. It announced a five per cent increase in the number of room nights and a six per cent increase in room revenues on the same period last year.

Linda Lewis, vice-president of global sales for Middle East, Africa and South Asia and Asia Pacific for Jumeirah Group said:

“Jumeirah continues to strengthen its position as one of the most successful, UAE home-grown brands on a global scale. Our strong performance in 2017 is evidence of our robust and forward-looking business strategy and we are confident of continuing the success story in new markets in 2018.

“We believe that our strength lies in our ability to understand the needs of our guests and in creating bespoke luxury inspired by Arabic hospitality and charm. This achievement comes with the support and vision of the UAE’s leadership whose continued focus on building the tourism and hospitality sector has helped us to deliver business success.”
