Anantara Vacation Club expands into Dubai

Anantara Vacation Club

Members of Anantara’s luxury shared-ownership concept, Anantara Vacation Club, now have access to luxury apartment units in the United Arab Emirates’ most populous city.

Earlier this week, the hotel group announced that its Club Developer subsidiary had secured access for its Club Points Owners to high-end units at Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort. The apartment suites will be available to all members for stays starting February 1 this year, with bookings being accepted for the remainder of 2017.

“With this first step, we will be able to meet our Club Points Owners’ growing demand for inventory in the Middle East,” said chief commercial officer, Maurizio Bisicky.

Anantara’s Dubai property is located on an archipelago of man-made islands on the city’s coastline and offers the group’s characteristic Thai architecture in a setting conveniently located near the Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Marina and the Palm Jumeirah.

Meanwhile, plans for an expanded Anantara Vacation Club presence in Dubai are currently underway and are dependant upon the release of a timeshare law. In 2017, the Club Developer also aims to expand its foothold within other destinations in the Middle East.

Anantara Vacation Club currently offers a portfolio of eight high-end Club Resorts in Thailand, Indonesia, China and New Zealand.

Anantara to launch in Europe

Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort, Portugal

Anantara Hotels, Resorts and Spas will launch its first property in Europe in Algarve, Portugal.

What has been operating as Tivoli Victoria, will be known as Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort from spring 2017. The 280-room property is a 15-minute drive from Faro International Airport and overlooks the Oceânico golf course. Also within proximity are Algarve’s beaches and marinas.

Anantara, the hospitality group is the parent company of Minor Hotels that has recently taken over the Tivoli Hospitality Group.

In preparation of the spring launch, parts of the hotel such as the main lobby and gym are undergoing soft refurbishment. The accommodation will also see a change. Anantara says, “A new luxury Family Suite category will be launched, with capacity for up to four guests. For shared holidays with family and friends, most rooms are interconnecting. The rooftop, two-bedroom Anantara suite will boast a huge terrace, with private dining area and its own Jacuzzi and sundeck.”

Dining options on the property will include EMO Restaurant and Terrace that will serve local cuisine with a subtle contemporary twist. Mediterranean cuisine will be available at two restaurants: Sensorial and Bartini. Afternoon tea will also be served there. The infinity pool bar serves sushi, and the Aqua Pop Up Bistro has more Asian options. Champagne Bar promises interesting cocktails. Dining by Design will tailor-make a memorable experience for you.

The pool that overlooks the golf course is for adults only. The second swimming pool on the property is open to families. Anantara Spa will indulge in treatments that borrow Mediterranean techniques, and will also include a traditional Turkish hammam, as well as yoga and Tai-Chi sessions.

The conference room will have a capacity for 800 people and can be divided into eight smaller sections.

Dillip Rajakarier, CEO Minor Hotels says, “We are thrilled to announce our first Anantara in Europe, which is a real milestone for the brand. Since our recent expansion into both Europe and South America with the acquisition of Tivoli Hotels and Resorts, our strategy is to bring our existing brands into these new regions of operation and the launch of Anantara Vilamoura in Portugal is the first part of this plan.”

Anantara currently operates 37 hotels and resorts in 12 countries, having recently added two new resorts in Sri Lanka and Oman.
