Singapore-based serviced residence and hotel company The Ascott Limited has launched Citadines Connect Sydney Airport, a new property near Sydney’s Kingsford Smith Airport under its new short-stay focused business hotel brand.
The airport hotel has 150 guestrooms, with sizes ranging from 18 to 40 sqm and with views of either the airport runways or the cityscape. Each of them is equipped with deluxe bedding, a 55-inch TV with Netflix, complimentary wifi, a rainfall shower and blackout curtains.
The property features a notably retro, ’60s-inspired design. The Penthouse, the property’s reception area, is decorated with bright pastels, patterned floors, neon signs and artwork adoring the walls. The area is fitted with a cocktail bar, where guests can enjoy their drinks while overlooking the airport’s runways below.
Other facilities in the property include a business centre, meeting facilities, a number of USB and charging stations, and a 24-hour Grab & Go food shop for guests to purchase hot and cold locally sourced dishes for takeaway.
In terms of recreational offerings, there is a heated 24-seater outdoor terrace on the rooftop. Sydney’s only rooftop cinema can be found here as well. The cinema screens two movies every night, with a family-friendly movie starting at 6pm and another more mature title at 8.45pm. Guests also have access to a 24-hour Athletic Club.
The hotel is a short 15-minute walk or two-minute drive to Sydney Airport’s domestic terminal, and 10 minutes’ drive to the international terminal. Sydney’s central business district can be reached within about 15 minutes by car or via the Airport Link, the railway line connecting the airport and the CBD.
Citadines Connect is a sub-brand of The Ascott’s Citadines brand, launched with a goal to widen the company’s short-stay offerings. This new hotel is one of the two debuting properties of the new brand, with the other one being the Citadines Connect Fifth Avenue New York.
