The first Pullman-brand hotel in the world has now also become the first to undergo a complete renovation, almost ten years after it opened its doors in October 2007. The Pullman Bangkok King Power has seen its lobby, restaurants and bars, meetings and events spaces, executive lounges and all 354 of its rooms receive an overhaul as part of the brand’s aim to cater to mobile, connected and seasoned travellers.

“The renovation of Pullman Bangkok King Power presented an unprecedented challenge but the result is simply stunning,” said the hotel’s general manager, Marc Begassat. “Our goal was to present our guests with a cosmopolitan, vibrant and stylish experience and I believe we have truly accomplished this.”

Among the new aspects introduced as part of the renovation is a lobby concept that combines barista with pop-up bar, and the Glen Bar with a new mezzanine space that features local beverages including traditional Thai street alcohol called yadong served from urns. The Pullman Bangkok King Power has a total of five restaurants and bars on site, which also includes an organic, wellness and detox-themed eatery, Cuisine Unplugged.

Meanwhile the hotel’s guestrooms have been redesigned across four room types and now include 18 Deluxe rooms with balconies. The Thai theme of the property is similarly a feature of the rooms, which have bamboo flooring in the Superior, Deluxe and Executive rooms. Suites, on the other hand, have teak flooring, though all rooms feature wooden worktables, lounge chairs, LED smart TVs and complimentary high-speed wifi.

For business travellers, the Pullman Bangkok King Power has redesigned its executive lounge so that it now offers a more relaxed setting with an open kitchen, meeting spaces and a living room. The executive lounge is available to suite and club floor guests. For corporate groups, meanwhile, the hotel has redeveloped its 20 meeting and events spaces, which includes two ballrooms; the smaller of which has natural lighting, an open kitchen and a car entrance.

“It is our belief that the new ‘Our World Is Your Playground’ concept will transform the hospitality industry in Bangkok, the world’s top tourist destination, and we are particularly proud that the world’s first Pullman is also the first Accorhotels property bringing this concept to life in Asia,” said Begassat.

In addition to the Pullman Bangkok King Power, Pullman has more than 100 hotels in 33 countries, with 37 new properties in the pipeline for Asia-Pacific.
