India’s homegrown, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, will launch it’s first international property in London on January 26, 2017.

The group that is headquartered in Delhi, opened its first property in the capital city in 1988. Since then it has grown to a portfolio of 17 luxury hotels, including The Lalit London.

Keshav Suri, the executive director of The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group says, “It was our founder chairman, my father, Lalit Suri’s dream to own a hotel in London. We are delighted to realise his dream, with the launch of The Lalit London. The luxury boutique hotel is a Grade 2 listed building that housed St Olave’s Grammar School and more recently, Lambeth College. For the last five years it has been a labour of love – blending the best of Indian culture, hospitality and cuisine with the finest Victorian architecture. We are set to make it one of the city’s most desirable destinations.”

The 180-year old building is now a luxury boutique hotel with 70 spacious rooms. Each of the rooms that remain true to their original Victorian architecture, are dressed in Indian furnishings — furniture, light fixtures, artwork, tapestries, and marble and mother of pearl inlay.

The property will house the brand’s signature pan Indian restaurant, Baluchi; The Terrace, a rooftop diner that serves international cuisine all day; two bars — The Teachers’ Room and The Headmaster’s Room; a gym; two meeting rooms; and Rejuve – The Spa.

The Lalit London is situated on Tooley Street, a 12-minute walk from London Bridge station.
