Wyndham Hotel Group’s mid-scale Ramada brand has returned to Japan with the opening of a new property in Niigata. Ramada had previously operated properties in Osaka and Sapporo.
The Ramada Hotel Niigata Japan opens following an extensive rebranding and renovation of the Niigata Tokyo REI hotel over the past year.
Targeting business and leisure travellers, the 300-room property offers six meeting rooms, complimentary wifi and an on-site laundromat. Meanwhile a total of five F&B outlets are available, including Japanese fusion restaurant El Dorado, headed by chef Kazhushige Yamagishi, who has previously worked at Michelin-starred French restaurants Guy Savoy and La Tour d’Argent.
The new Ramada is situated three minutes’ walk from Niigata train station and is close to sites such as the Toki Messe Convention Centre.

The opening of the Ramada Hotel Niigata Japan is part of a wider push in Asia by Wyndham, and follows the opening of two Ramada properties in South Korea and one in Nanjing in August.
