Marriott International has signed franchise contracts for five new Fairfield by Marriott properties, as well as management contracts for a Courtyard hotel and a Marriott Hotel in China.

The five franchised Fairfield by Marriott properties, to be managed by the group’s Chinese partner Eastern Crown Hotels Group, will be as follows:
Fairfield by Marriott, Chongqing Riverside
Fairfield by Marriott, Dongguan Changping
Fairfield by Marriott, Meizhou South
Fairfield by Marriott, Foshan Nanhai
Fairfield by Marriott Nanning Nanhu Park.

Meanwhile, the new Courtyard by Marriott hotel will be located in Chengdu’s Tianfu New District, and will offer 315 guestrooms. The Marriott Hotel in Jinhua, which will be the brand’s first property in the city, will feature 279 guestrooms and a range of facilities including two restaurants, a lobby lounge, and 1,700 sqm of meeting space.

Opening dates for the new hotels have yet-to-be finalised but they will add over 1,400 new rooms owned by Marriott’s partners in China.

“China is a highly important market. Our signing of these agreements reflects our goal to meet the needs of both international and domestic visitors by introducing hotels carrying Marriott’s brands in close partnership with Chinese hotel management and ownership companies,” said Arne Sorenson, president & chief executive of Marriott International.

“China is our largest market outside the US, and we are very confident in its continued growth, especially in view of the rising disposable incomes of the middle class and development of the consumer-led economy.”
