Starwood has opened its first Aloft property in Saudi Arabia, located at the intersection of Riyadh’s main Olaya Street and Makkah Road.

The 281-room Aloft Riyadh features the brand’s signature Refuel grab and go food offering, Wxyz lounge, Recharge gym and Splash outdoor pool, as well as Dish all-day dining restaurant, and five Tactic meeting rooms.

The hotel also offers SPG Keyless, enabling guests to use their mobile device to open room doors.

Commenting on the opening Brian McGuiness, Global Brand Leader, Specialty Select Brands, Starwood Hotels and Resorts said:

“With a portfolio of more than 100 hotels in dynamic destinations around the globe, Aloft continues to be one of the fastest growing hotel brands and is set to open 12 more properties in the Middle East by 2020.

“Saudi Arabia boasts a rapidly growing tech savvy culture, and Aloft resonates in this market with its innovative programming and approach to technology, which appeal to today’s hyper-connected traveller.”

Earlier this year Starwood announced two new properties for the Saudi Arabian capital.

The group will debut its Westin and Element brands in the city, as part of a mixed-use development close to the King Abdullah Financial District.
