Soho House and Co will be launching the Ned next spring, a hotel, club and collection of restaurants in the City of London.

Located in former Midland Bank building at 27 Poultry, in the district of Bank, the Ned will turn the Sir Edwin “Ned” Lutyens-designed building into a destination for resting, entertaining and working.

Created in collaboration with New York developer the Sydell Group, there will be nine restaurants, a hotel with 252 bedrooms, a nail parlour and barbershop, event space and private members’ club the Ned, which will be independent from the Soho House portfolio of clubs. In total, the project will encompass almost 30,000 sqm.

Small, medium and large rooms will be fitted out in vintage furniture, floral wallpaper, chandeliers, richly patterned upholstery and four-poster beds, while bathrooms will all have rainshowers.

Guests staying at the Ned hotel will have temporary access to the 2,400 sqm Ned’s Club, which will occupy both the roof (Upstairs) and basement (Downstairs) areas.

At the top will be a members-only rooftop pool, Canopy bar and restaurant with a retractable glass awning, and Princes Street and Poultry Domes for drinking and dining.

The basement will feature the Vault Room lounge bar for cocktails.

Ned’s Club Active will feature a boxing gym, workout equipment, Pilates studio, yoga and spinning, while Ned’s Club Relax will offer access to a hamam with a 100-year-old Italian fountain, pool, sauna, steam room and Cowshed spa with eight treatment rooms open to the public.

Six private event spaces will be available for hire, all with natural light and a dedicated reception. Outdoor functions can also be held on two terraces.

The original grand banking hall, with 92 verdite marble columns, will serve food from around the world via seven additional restaurants.

Cecconi’s City of London (its sister restaurant Cecconi’s is in Mayfair) will dish up handmade Italian pasta and pizza, while Pen Yes will specialise in Japanese sashimi, tataki ramen, sake and robata dishes.
