Wyndham Hotel Group has opened two new properties in the Korean cities of Gangwon and Gunsan.

Ramada Gunsan and Ramada Gangwon Sokcho are franchise agreements with KG Development Corporation and Korea Asset Management respectively. The openings boost Wyndham’s total number of hotels in South Korea to 18, with this figure expected to grow to 40 properties by 2018.

Ramada Gunsan

Gunsan is a city in North Jeolla Province, which is one of Korea’s most important manufacturing industrial hubs. The city is also an international trade seaport on the midwest coast of the Korean Peninsula.

Ramada Gunsan features 137 guestrooms that deliver views of the surrounding mountain or the Eunpa Lake. The hotel also offers three deluxe suites – each coming with a living area and bathroom that includes both rain shower and a bathtub.

Facilities include an all-day dining restaurant and a day spa. The hotel is also home to a grand ballroom, which can accommodate up to 120 delegates, and six smaller meeting rooms. A communal business centre is also available, and it comes with two computer terminals as well as photocopy and fax services.

Ramada Gangwon Sokcho

While it may lack key industries, the Gangwon province is expected to be a point of focus for South Korea as it gears up for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. Sokcho, a city within the province, is also a popular gateway to Seoraksan National Park and home to a number of hot springs and gold courses.

Ramada Gangwon Sokcho is located across the Daepo Port, which gives it good access to the Daepo fish market – home to fresh seafood produce and many local restaurants.

The 556 guestrooms are split across 20 floors, with the accommodations furnished with minibars, flat screen televisions, and complimentary wifi. Facilities consist of an all-day dining restaurant, a spa and sauna, fitness centre, and a banquet hall for events.
