The Peninsula Paris has been awarded the prestigious Palace status by the French Tourism Development Agency.
The distinction – which sits above the five-star rating – was created in November 2010 “to reward hotel excellence and to assist in promoting the French way of life on the international stage”.
There are currently around 20 hotels with Palace status, including Parisian properties Le Meurice, Park Hyatt Vendome, Four Seasons Hotel George V, and the Mandarin Oriental, Paris.

The Peninsula Paris opened in August 2014, and is located on Avenue Kleber, close to the Arc de Triomphe.
The six-storey Belle Epoque building features 166 rooms and 34 suites, five of which have their own private rooftop terraces, as well as three restaurants and a 1,800 sqm spa with 20-metre pool.
To celebrate its new status, the hotel has launched the Peninsula Palace offer (available until September 30), including a bottle of Champagne, and 30 additional minutes of spa treatments for every 60 minutes or more purchased.
