The first Hyatt-branded hotel in China’s Sichuan province has opened its doors.

Situated along the historic Chunxi Road in the Jinhiang district, the Grand Hyatt Chengdu is housed on floors 10 to 39 of the Chicony Square building. It’s a 30-minute drive from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and 20 minutes from both the Chengdu East Railway Station and Chengdu North Railway Station.

The hotel’s 390 guestrooms measure between 40 to 190 sqm in size, with all accommodations offering floor-to-ceiling windows. Rooms come with modern natural wood furnishings, plus Chinese touches such as ceramic horse lamp bases, kang-leg coffee tables, and ink-brush paintings.

There are plenty of F&B outlets onsite. Guests can choose from all-day dining at Grand Café; high tea at Salon; pastries and cakes at Nougat; barbeque meat, seafood and vegetables at the aptly-named BBQ; Chinese tea at Tea House; hot pot at No. 8; European favourites at Steak House; and drinks at Xi Mi.

Recreational facilities include a fitness centre, 25m-heated swimming pool and the Huan Spa, which houses five private treatment suites and 12 foot massagers.

Finally, the 10th and 12th floor is home to more than 3,000 sqm of event space. This includes the 712 sqm Palais ballroom and the 1,350 sqm Versailles-style outdoor terrace – the French Garden.
