The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has acquired its second resort hotel in Hainan, China.

Scheduled to open in 2017, the Ritz-Carlton, Nanyan Bay will be located on the east coast, near the city of Wanning. The resort will also see the debut of the first Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in China – consisting of an 18-hole course designed by golf legend, Jack Nicklaus.

The Ritz-Carlton, Nanyan Bay will feature 244 guestrooms and suites, along with 14 private villas. Dining options will include a Chinese restaurant, pool bar and grill, all-day dining restaurant and lobby lounge.

Recreational facilities will include a spa, fitness centre, recreation pavilion and multiple swimming pools. There will also be 1,600 sqm of flexible meeting space, including an 800 sqm grand ballroom.

“Nanyan Bay will be a sensational new resort destination for The Ritz-Carlton in the much heard about but relatively under-explored ‘Hawaii of the East’,” said Herve Humler, president and chief operating officer for Ritz-Carlton.

“We are pleased to create a new international oceanfront resort for sophisticated travellers looking to explore the unexplored.”
