Thompson Hotels is opening its first Chicago property in October, it has been announced.
The 247-room Thompson Chicago is located in the city's Gold Coast district and offers views of Lake Michigan.
The hotel is opening in phases, the first taking place on October 1 and the remainder rolling out by the end of the year.
Its interior was created by British designer Tara Bernerd, who also designed the interior of Thompson's London property, Belgraves, which opened in January (see online news, December 2012).
Thompson Chicago features six two-level penthouses, 11,350 sqm of function space, a restaurant, private dining rooms and an Italian eatery, NICO.
