Starwood’s W Hotels brand has announced plans to renovate around ten of its properties including the W Montreal, W New York and W Seattle.
The group says it will “reinvigorate” the properties within the next 18 months, with several hotels seeing their lobby areas (the ‘Living Room’ in W parlance) renovated.
A total of US$100 million has been committed to the renovation projects by Starwood and its ownership groups, with works including:
- The renovation of all guest rooms at the W Montreal, with “a colourful new palette that also pays tribute to the historical architecture” of the city.
- Redesigned guest rooms at the W Dallas, with features including lasso sculptures, rhinestone hardware and armadillo skin embellishments.
- The renovation of Wow and EWow suites at the W New York – Times Square.
- The renovation of all rooms at the W New Orleans – French Quarter, with jazz and tarot motifs included in the designs, and a new destination restaurant set to be unveiled.
- An updated Living Room at the W New York – Union Square, which has recently undergone a renovation of all guest rooms.
- The renovation of all meeting rooms at the W Seattle, alongside a recently unveiled Living Room and bar area, and new restaurant Trace focussing on “conscious cuisine”.
- A redesigned Living Room bar at the W New York, which has recently undergone a facelift of its meeting rooms.
- The renovation of all guest rooms at the W Chicago – Lakeshore, as well as the renovation of the hotel’s public spaces including the Living Room, Wave restaurant, Whiskey Sky rooftop bar and Altitude meeting space.
- An expanded Living Room and bar at the W San Francisco, as well as the launch of Trace restaurant.
- A “re-energised” rooftop bar and “newly imagined” Living Room at the W San Diego, as well as the expansion and renovation of the hotel’s meeting rooms, and the opening of Kelvin restaurant this month.
- An expanded Living Room and bar at the W Los Angeles – Westwood, and the revamp of its Backyard restaurant and poolside lounge.
