Frasers outlines “ambitious” plans

Serviced apartment operator Frasers Hospitality has outlined expansion plans for the next two years, including 16 new properties worldwide by the end of 2010. EUROPE Singapore-based Frasers, which began in 1997 with two properties, has increased its portfolio to 35 worldwide. 14 of these are in Europe but this is set to change this summer with the opening of its Budapest property, its debut in Hungary. Frasers’ 14 other properties include nine in London, two in Scotland including the recently rebranded Fraser Suites Edinburgh, and two in Paris. ASIA Four new properties under Fraser’s Modena brand are slated to open in the Asia region this year. Modena Heping Tianjin and Modena Putuo Shanghai are both now taking bookings for July 1 onwards, while two properties in Suzhou’s industrial park are due to open in the fourth quarter. A fifth Modena, Modena Singapore, will open in Changi Business Park in Q1 2013. Fraser’s Kuala Lumpur residence, carrying its Fraser Place brand, sees its official opening today following a six-month soft launch. MIDDLE EAST The 180-room Fraser Suites Dubai opened earlier this month, and will soon be followed by Fraser Suites Doha, Qatar. Doha is expected to open by the of the summer. Further Middle Eastern properties include six in Saudi Arabia by 2014, with an announcement on the first two expected in the coming months.
