Several UK Hilton properties are to be refurbished over the next year, under an agreement with the property owners. In particular Hilton Newbury North will become the first property to feature Hilton’s new “The Space” concept.
Up to 16 Hilton properties owned by Igal Ahouvi and partners will benefit from the £20m programme, which is due to be completed by 2011 and will include the refurbishment of rooms, bars, restaurants and public areas.
Among these is Hilton London Gatwick Airport, which has already seen a new restaurant and Costa coffee shop added, as well as a redesigned lobby. But the biggest change will be seen at Hilton Newbury North, which is to become the first Hilton hotel to feature the group’s new “The Space” concept.
The area has been designed “to redefine the traditional restaurant, lounge and bar area by offering the comfort and feel of an airport executive lounge across the entire ground floor of the hotel”, and will feature a work space with wifi internet access, mobile charging stations and laptop power points; a flexible meeting space with large bookable meeting zones; and “Super foods” eating options, “geared towards productivity with natural energy boosts”.
