Gulf Air business class

Check in Gulf Air now offers both online and self check in, but I opted to check in the old-fashioned way at the dedicated line, even though I carried my one bag on with me. Service was courteous and swift by a helpful agent. My traveling companions who did check their luggage were allowed 40kg, an extra 10kg more than in economy.
The lounge Bahrain is Gulf Air’s home hub and the lounge reflected its status with a large, airey space, divided into smaller conversation groups with a colourful playroom at the far end, where families with restless young travelers can enjoy themselves without disturbing other passengers. Two service areas provided a nice selection of hot and cold snacks and beverages. Plenty of computers were available so even with a few youngsters playing games, I could still check my email with the free internet connection. A relaxing quiet room with chaise lounges were also a welcome sight as were the clean showers with adequate amenities for those who wanted to freshen up.
Boarding Seamless and plenty of overhead space for my luggage. Dates and Arabic coffee were offered along with refreshing towels, a selection of newspapers in both English and Arabic and additional drinks of juice and water.
The seats Two rows in a 2-2-2 configuration, with a privacy panel between each pair of seats, in the Business cabins create a feeling of secluded spaciousness.
The flight After a smooth take-off, the cabin crew, who actually smiled as though they meant it, distributed amenity kits and menus. As I am an exceptionally thirsty flier, they kept me supplied with beverages as I watched a movie from the limited selection. I particularly enjoyed snuggling in the toasty two-layer blanket the flight attendant gave me shortly after take-off. After the meal service, which included a choice of three appetizers, four mains and four desserts – I selected the garden salad, grilled lamb chops and chocolate and coconut pudding offered by the onboard chef – I put on the socks from the amenity kit, slipped into the ultra-soft and ultra roomy Gulf Air pyjamas and stretched out on the 180 degree seat and promptly went to sleep.
I do not remember another thing until we were beginning the descent into KL. Unfortunately, there were an inadequate number of Arrival cards onboard to complete in advance, so we had to obtain and complete them before going through passport control, causing a slight delay that could have been avoided by some planning.
Service Gulf Air is working hard to improve both its flight schedules and frequency and onboard service. Their goal is to provide service to underserved destinations and to offer more return flights, expressly so business travelers can fly to a destination and return the same day. Miles can be earned in conjunction with a frequent flier program that includes American Airlines and Virgin Atlantic, among others.
Verdict By combining First and Business classes into their Falcon Gold, they are simplifying the aircraft configuration while still providing a premium class of service, more akin to the current trends in Business than in First class.
