Lost property in hotels 13/10/2005
Dear Alex, Is there a policy that hotels follow regarding guests' lost property? On a few unfortunate occasions, I have left things behind in my room and not realised until I have flown out of the country. However, the hotels have never contacted me to say they found my stuff, or to ask whether I wanted it returned. On one occasion, in Japan, I left behind all my medications; another time I left a hat in Thailand. I also have another question. During check-in, all guests are required to give contact information. If the hotels are not going to contact the guests, why do they want my address, phone number and email address — just to send me junk mail? Frances Ho, Hong Kong — full story »
