22 Oct 2010 by BusinessTraveller
Having recently acquired the Tryp brand from Sol Melia, Wyndham has announced the debut of the Tryp by Wyndham offering in the Big Apple. The 173-room Tryp New York City – Times Square South is currently under construction at 345 West 35th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues, and is due to be completed by the second quarter of 2011. The Wyndham Hotel Group acquired the Tryp hotel brand from Sol Melia in June this year, with over 90 “select-service, mid-priced” hotels in cities including Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Lisbon, Frankfurt, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo and Montevideo. Features of the New York property will include fitness guest rooms allowing guests to work out in privacy, as well as function space accommodating up to 100 delegates, a business centre and fitness centre. Tryp by Wyndham is set to open properties in Berlin, Medellin (Columbia), and Madrid (the 15th hotel by the brand in the Spanish capital) by the end of the year.
