Wyndham unveils plans for Cardiff

24 Mar 2010 by AndrewGough

Wyndham Hotels and Resorts has announced plans for a second property in the UK, slated to open in Cardiff in 2013.

The £60 million, 200-room Wyndham Cardiff is already under construction as part of a larger business and residential development on the city’s waterfront.

As well as housing the up-market Wyndham hotel, the development will also include 100 residential units, shops, offices and businesses. The hotel itself will have 35 serviced apartments, as well as the 200 guestrooms, and 3,600sqm of function space.

Guests will also have the use of an indoor pool, sauna, gym and, spa, plus two restaurants and three bars including a health bar, café and signature bar.

Wyndham Hotel Group’s portfolio in Europe now includes 234 hotels, however only two of these bear the Wyndham brand – the Wyndham Amsterdam and the Wyndham Grand in London.

The Wyndham Apollo Hotel Amsterdam debuted earlier this year, a rebranding of the Apollo Hotel Amsterdam (see online news January 15).

Last year Wyndham unveiled plans for an extensive renovation of its Wyndham Grand London Chelsea Harbour property (see online news September 28).
