Wyndham Hotel Group has announced plans for its first property in the Greek capital.
The Wyndham Grand Athens will be housed within the former Hotel Athens Imperial (pictured) on Karaiskaki Place, and is scheduled to open in 2017.
The renovated property will feature 273 rooms, a restaurant, bar, spa facilities, roof garden with outdoor pool, and 2,500 sqm of conference and meeting space.
Commenting on the news Dan Ruff, President and Managing Director EMEA, for Wyndham Hotel Group, said:
“Wyndham Grand hotels are located in some of the world’s most sought after destinations, including Shanghai, Istanbul, Doha, Salzburg, Chicago, Orlando and now Athens.
“This is only our first stop in Greece, as we see opportunities for many of our brands across the country, from city centres such as Athens and Thessaloniki to resort destinations in the Greek islands and mainland.”
Wyndham recently unveiled a global repositioning strategy for its portfolio of 16 brands, and has added new member levels to its Wyndham Rewards programme.
