Wyndham to add 41 German properties

21 Feb 2013 by BusinessTraveller

Wyndham has announced a significant expansion into Germany, with the rebranding of 43 Grand City Hotels properties, adding over 5,400 rooms to Wyndham’s portfolio.

Of the 43 hotels, 41 are located in Germany, with the remaining two in Antwerp and Amsterdam.

The strategic partnership agreement represents around a third of the German hotel management company’s 120 properties, with 33 of the hotels being rebranded by March 1, and the remainder converting over the next two years.

Wyndham will rebrand the hotels under its Wyndham Grand, Wyndham, Wyndham Garden, Tryp by Wyndham and Days Inn brands.

The move not only introduces the Wyndham brand to Germany for the first time, but also launches the group’s Wyndham Garden offering in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Wyndham already operates 54 properties in Germany under its Ramada and Tryp brands.

Announcing the partnership, Wyndham Hotel Group’s president and CEO Eric Danziger said that it was “without a doubt, one of the most significant moves we have made to bring our family of lodging brands to Germany, currently one of the strongest markets in Europe”.
