Starwood’s W Hotels brand is to open its first property in Jakarta in 2015, joining Indonesia’s existing W hotel in Bali earlier this year.
There are few details about the forthcoming hotel at present, although it will feature 300 rooms, and will be located in the city’s central business district, comprising part of the Ciputra World Jakarta 2 complex.
According to Ciputra Property TBK’s website the high-rise residential district will eventually consist of four condominium towers and a serviced apartments tower managed by Frasers Hospitality.
The W Hotels brand debuted in Indonesia earlier this year, with the opening of the 158-room W Retreat & Spa Bali – Seminyak.
W also recently opened its first property in Russia – a 137-room hotel in St Petersburg featuring a restaurant, bar and rooftop lounge headed up by three Michelin-star chef Alain Ducasse (see online news June 15).
