W Hotels debuts in Russia

Starwood has opened its first W hotel in Eastern Europe, a 137-room property in St Petersburg featuring a restaurant by Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse.

W St Petersburg is located on Voznesensky Prospect, close to the city's Hermitage museum, St Isaac Cathedral and Winter Palace, and features interiors designed by  Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel Partners and inspired by the Fabergé Egg.

Facilties include Mix restaurant, bar and rooftop lounge, headed up by three Michelin-star chef Alain Ducasse, and a spa with indoor pool and fitness centre.

The debut of the brand in Eastern Europe follows the opening of the first W hotel in London in February (for a full review of the property click here).
