Virgin to add fourth daily New York JFK service

11 May 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Virgin Atlantic is to add a fourth daily frequency to its London Heathrow-New York JFK service from October 28.

Flight VS025 will depart London at 1900, arriving into New York “shortly after” 2200, with the return leg VS026 leaving JFK at 0800 and landing back into Heathrow at 2000. It means Virgin will have two flights departing New York in the morning – one from JFK and one from Newark.

Virgin currently flies three times-daily to New York JFK (departing at 0930, 1400 and 1715), and twice-daily to Newark (departing at 1615 and 2025), with the return legs departing at 1815, 1920 and 2220 from JFK, and 0800 and 2120 from Newark.

The carrier says the new service “will give connecting passengers greater flexibility, with timings to give a seamless connection onto other Virgin Atlantic routes including Delhi, Dubai, and many of its African destinations”.

Virgin recently opened a new Clubhouse at JFK (see online news March 5), and has launched its new Upper Class seat on the London-New York route (for a review of the product click here).
