United to donate ten million miles to travellers’ favourite charities

United Continental Holdings is to donate the equivalent of ten million miles to a total of 45 charities, with each charity’s donation determined by reader votes.
Visitors to 10millioncharitymiles.com can vote for their favourite charity from a list of 45 organisations, with each visitor eligible to vote for one charity once each day between now and December 31.
Visitors do not need to be a member of the United Mileage Plus or Continental One Pass schemes to be eligible to vote.
Charities include the American Red Cross, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Salvation Army and the American Cancer Society. Charities will receive miles according to their percentage of the vote, although all charities will receive a minimum of 25,000 miles.
