United is celebrating the 25th anniversary of flights to London Heathrow this week.
The carrier first operated flights into the airport on April 4, 1991, with a B747 service from Washington DC.
This route was followed by flights from New York JFK, San Francisco and Miami the same day.
Over the 25 years United has carried more than 42 million passengers on over 233,000 flights to and from Heathrow.
The airline currently operates up to 17 flights per day from the London hub, to Chicago, Houston, New York Newark, San Francisco and Washington.
This week will also see United celebrate its 90th birthday, with the airline launching its first flight between Pasco, Washington, and Boise, Idaho on April 6, 1926.
