Turkish Airlines unveils rebrand

Turkey’s flag carrier has completed a rebranding including new interiors, logo and livery, as “a key part of the airline’s strategy to position itself as a major European carrier to rival other global airlines”.

Designed by UK-based group Priestmangoode, the new interiors will be retrofitted across the carrier’s Airbus and Boeing aircraft, and will feature on all of the 105 new aircraft on order.

Features of the rebrand include grey Tulip patterned seats in business class, with an embossed Turkish Airlines logo on leather headrests and the carrier’s signature red colour used as a reveal between the headrest and on the seat belts.

Comfort (premium economy) class has predominant “earthy tones” of green, brown and grey, with brown textile seats with embroidered green stitching, while economy seating features nine different colours “reflecting the colours and visual richness found in Istanbul”, along with a white pearl design on the back wall inspired by traditional Turkish mosaic patterns.

A back-illuminated 3D version of the carrier’s new logo will greet passengers in the galleys and on the back wall of each cabin.

The revamped interiors can be seen in a new TV ad for the airline, featuring players from the carrier’s sponsor Manchester United. The video can bee seen on our sister website seatplans.com.

Priestmangoode has designed a number of airline interiors, including Swiss’ latest first class cabin (see online news January 22, 2009), Kingfisher Airline’s new fleet of A330-200s (see online news July 15, 2008), and Jet Airways’ first class suites (see online news April 19, 2007).
